A rare occasion where we have had to actually go on the roof to be able to remove the moss and algae. Our team are trained to work at height, they assessed the situation and as there was good footing area with no direct area to fall, they cleaned these angles from the roof. This clean used a cherry picker for safe access at the front and also scaffolding to the rear. As these particular angles were difficult to reach, standing in the gully's was safe and best practise. You can see as the moss is being removed the beautiful red coloured tiles that were originally designed. Removing this moss really is the icing on the cake for this property and as it is near a wooded area we would always recommend that a respray of biocide be applied every two years to ensure that the biological growth stays away.

You may be wondering if you should have your roof cleaned. You may have heard different stories about whether this is a good or bad service to go for. You may have a problem with moss on your roof or unsightly algae.
Removing moss from roofs is perfectly safe to do if you have the right team.
We have cleaned hundreds of roofs in the area in Lancashire and Merseyside. Jetwashing a roof is the cheapest form of roof cleaning but it is not best for the substrate. Softwashing a roof or manually scraping it is a gentle yet effective way to clean your roof. With a treatment of biocide after the process is complete, this is the best way to keep your roof moss free for years to come.
