“ October 1961, approval wInas given for the construction of sectional police boxes to be built at Preston New Road, Bedford Park, and Devonshire Road. However, a subsequent review of that decision by the Watch Committee saw only one such building constructed at Preston New Road at a cost of £2,900. The building was opened by the Chairman of the Watch Committee on 6th May 1964...'”
