This is an image of a render that we cleaned in Ormskirk Lancashire. However our job yesterday was in Preston. Rendered surfaces can become infected with green or red algae and the temptation is to paint over it. Do not do that until the infection has been killed and treated. This should be done gently and thoroughly. Very often this is all that is needed and painting becomes unnecessary as the colour returns to its original form.
A good professional use biocide will do the trick and luckily enough we provide the service required!
Should I paint my render? How do I treat algae in my render? Why is my render green? Why is my render red?

A question we always get asked is should i paint my render? A beautifully finished rendered surface adds a lovely detail to your property, but over time this can become discoloured with black, red or green. This is algae and biological growth as well as general detritus.
So the answer should always be to get an expert to look at it. If it is biological growth you absolutely should not paint it until treated. Very often, once treated, it will not need painting. It needs to be treated with a good quality biocide product that a good softwashing company will be able to advise you on.
Is your render looking tired ? Is you render black, green or red?
